Wonderland AI Summit 2021

The APIS Team will be attending and speaking at the virtual Wonderland AI Summit.

Be sure not to miss Aleksander Mihajlovic (Head of Operations, Bioinformatics & Computational Biology) talking on the ‘Applications of AI in the Design of Small Molecular Modifiers’ on the Tech & Beyond Stage 21st October @ 12.30 -13.00

Abstract

The overabundance of data, constantly developing data acquisition technologies, and the rise of applied AI are significantly accelerating diagnostic efficiency and drug discovery.

Aptamers are small DNA or RNA molecules that can fold onto themselves forming small structures that can modify the shapes of proteins used to improve the sensitivity and specificity of diagnostics assays, drug delivery and targeting. Modelling these small molecules in vitro is a painstaking task, that involves a great deal of trial and error.

The emergence of AI promises to minimize these arduous steps by facilitating In-Silico aptamer discovery before even entering the lab. This talk will cover the current state of AI-enabled aptamer discovery, it’s real world applications and success stories and what the future holds in store.
